How to Apply to the UC San Diego Emergency Medicine Residency Program
The Application Process
We offer 12 position through the National Matching Program (NRMP).
Our NRMP number is 1049110C0.
We accept all applications via Residency Centralized Application System (ResidencyCAS).
Your Complete Application Includes:
ResidencyCAS Application Form (which should include):- Personal statement
- Photograph
- USMLE results - MD & DO Applicants: Step 1 required and Step 2 are required for consideration to interview.
- Three letters of recommendation (1 of which must be SLOEs)
- Dean's letter
- Medical school transcript
Your ResidencyCAS application, be sure to include all required supporting documents (at least two letters of recommendation) to complete your file. Your file will be reviewed only after it is complete; interviews are by invitation only.
We will start a holistic review of your application on September 30, 2026. Notifications for interviews are sent out on a rolling basis throughout the season via ResidencyCAS with a 3-day window to schedule.
Residency Interview dates for 2026-2027 are:
- November 3, 4, 12, 17, 18
- December 1, 2, 9, 15, 16
