Fellowship: Clinical Research ScholarDr. Faith Quenzer was born and raised in Stockton, California. She obtained her undergraduate degree at UC San Diego in Biochemistry and Cell Biology. While living in San Diego she developed a mentorship program for at-risk youth and volunteered with the UCSD Student-Run Free Clinic. She worked throughout her undergraduate time in research labs at UCSD and The Scripps Research Institute. She went on to do work in epidemiology research while she applied for medical school. Ultimately, she chose to go to Western University of Health Sciences, College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific (COMP). It was during this time that she became more involved in research through various epidemiological research in a local county ED and case reports. She did her Emergency Medicine Residency at Desert Regional Medical Center which is a located in the Coachella Valley and is a community-based Level II Trauma, STEMI, and Comprehensive Stroke Center. She has also continued her involvement in research projects including publishing case reports, a research abstract, several chapters for pocket guides in emergency medicine, wrote several articles for the American Academy of Emergency Medicine, and Women in Emergency Medicine podcasts. In addition to these professional accomplishments, Dr. Quenzer loves spending time outside with her husband, three-year-old son, and newborn daughter. She is interested in learning and writing about about the following: social media as a learning tool, burnout in medicine, women in emergency medicine, mentorship in medicine, among other topics for which she has a passion. Her hobbies include: surfing, kayaking, reading, journaling, learning new languages, traveling, and learning and playing new musical instruments.
