Program Curriculum Goals

At the completion of the fellowship, the EMS fellow will: 

  • Develop the knowledge base and skills necessary to be an active participant in the EMS community at the local, regional, state, national, and international level. 
  • Develop a knowledge base and expertise in disaster medicine to prepare and respond to disasters. 
  • Possess the administrative skills needed to provide medical direction for a: 
    • Prehospital provider agency 
    • EMT or paramedic training institute 
    • Local EMS agency 
    • Non-governmental organization 
  • Develop requisite academic skills to be an effective researcher and teacher in EMS. 
  • Perform curriculum development and instruction for EMS education. 
  • Perform meaningful EMS quality improvement and assurance.
