Curriculum of the EMS/Disaster Medicine Fellowship

Program Curriculum Goals
At the completion of the fellowship, the EMS fellow will:
- Develop the knowledge base and skills necessary to be an active participant in the EMS community at the local, regional, state, national, and international level.
- Develop a knowledge base and expertise in disaster medicine to prepare and respond to disasters.
- Possess the administrative skills needed to provide medical direction for a:
- Prehospital provider agency
- EMT or paramedic training institute
- Local EMS agency
- Non-governmental organization
- Develop requisite academic skills to be an effective researcher and teacher in EMS.
- Perform curriculum development and instruction for EMS education.
- Perform meaningful EMS quality improvement and assurance.
